I'm on Blogger!

Check out my blog on blogger!! Bloggers check out www.shannonvasquez.com for more than a blog! If you want to read about food, I love to write about FOOD! I love to COOK food and EAT food! I am an old school foodie! Raised behind the stove, coooking all the family meals in the 70's-80-s. My family is in catering, my grandmothers are still alive and both are active in the kitchen, I still even get a lesson when I can get my butt up there! If there is anything you want to know about family cooking traditions, building relationships in the kitchen, creating love and growing love through food or opening other's up to new and improved ideas, I AM YOUR BLOGGER! I also do like to go out when my pocket book can afford so... So, when I do, I choose wisely, the most bang for my buck!

And I'm even talking sushi! Matsu on Beach is the best value and has the most amazing combo meals, especially for lunch! I get the Salmon teriyaki and sashimi combo it is AMAZING!!! So much food!! you can take half of it home for dinner, but I don't!! That is one of my secrets.... go out to lunch, not dinner. You get better service, can take your time and the food is the same but at a lower price! Not to mention you can eat more since it's the middle of the day, makes sense to me!

Today I got to be treated to one of (make that two of!!) Paul's gorgeous bloody mary's at the Shore House in Seal Beach. He Rocks! Shore House Rocks! The menu is the BIBLE! What do you want? What time do you want it? They have everything at anytime! Are ALWAYS fabulously friendly and the portions are to die for!! I take all my out of town guests there and no one has been disappointed. We sit at the bar if it's open and always make friends. I had my special custom omelet, mmmm.....

A few weekends ago we were treated to No Place Like Home in LA! oh my goodness!! So good, but the funny thing is that I order the same custom omelet everywhere I eat breakfast and although NPLHome was good, my favorite still has to be Westbay even though the service could be friendlier, the omelet is the cleanest. Shore House is a little buttery, NPLHome put the avocado in it, so it was hot, I prefer it like Westbay And Shore House do it with the avo laid on top after the omelet is cooked. I've also had the omelet at Alexander's Brite [sic] Spot on Sunset in LA, but they charge you by the ingredient and it cost over $11 there!! At Shore House it's like $8 and about the same at Westbay, NPLHome I can't really remember, but I KNOW it WASN'T $11!! Whatever, it was so big at Brite Spot that I couldn't finish it. But they should have a $9 max for omelets.

Ok, that is my foodie blog for today.... maybe tomorrow I'll talk about my bulldog!! OMG!! She is so Bull-ti-ful! It blows my mind every day! She keeps me on track! Blog to you soon! xoxo, Shan.
